Investing in the right video production crew will make your live webcasting video production seamless and produce a high-quality show for your viewers

Metro Teleproductions was contacted by Andrew Musgrave of Boardroom Media to serve as the technical liaison for an Investor Day webcast that would require two shooting days. The client was the Australian company Transurban Group, which develops and manages toll road networks in Australia and the United States. In fact, the company’s North American offices are located in Tysons, Virginia, specifically because Transurban operates the Dulles Toll Road, which can be seen from the headquarters. The company’s offices were the location for both shoots.

The first shoot involved recording a presentation by Pierce Coffee, President of Transurban North America, to be used during the upcoming Investor Day webcast. Investor Day is an Australian tradition whereby companies release annual financial reports to their stockholders.

Videographer Shawn Chadwick first did a remote test, as the event would be using the Cisco Webex video conference application. This requires that the video resolution be set to 720p, as opposed to the usual 1080p or 1080i HD standard. Ami Wong operated the Teleprompter.

Return to the Scene: The Video Production Crew Completes the Job

The second production was a couple of days later at the same location. This was the actual virtual event. MTI webcast director John Bogley was set up so that the remote presenter, Ms. Coffee, could answer any questions during the live event. The recording from earlier in the week was seamlessly inserted into the show.

Getting the Right Webcasting Equipment Is Important

The same equipment was used for both productions: The Panasonic AGDVX 200 camera, a Sachtler tripod, Aperture lights. Teleprompter software was utilized via an iPad. Both lavaliere and boom microphones were used to capture the sound.

Of course, all MTI personnel are vaccinated and follow Covid 19 procedures on site, wearing masks, cleaning equipment, following social distancing guidelines, etc.
