MTI produces a video to bring awareness to homelessness
When a good cause comes along, Metro Teleproductions is not just about the bottom line. Recently, MTI’s longtime friend and frequent production partner Deno Seder contacted us with a unique proposal. While volunteering at a homeless facility in Rockville, Deno met Gordon Brown. Which surprised Deno because Brown already has his own company dedicated to helping those in need, A Place to Stand. Founded with his wife, Richelle Brown, A Place to Stand offers a holistic approach to helping families increase their self-sufficiency, self-efficacy, and financial stability.

Gordon Brown
With MTI video production, Gordon Brown is on his way to bring awareness to the plight of homelessness.
Gordon Brown and A Place to Stand’s mission
“I was very impressed by Gordon,” says Deno. So impressed, that he included Brown in his book, Gimme Shelter: Homelessness and the Efforts To End It, co-written with Anita Semjen. And Brown’s many credentials are definitely impressive. In addition to his PhD., Brown has expertise in the food and beverage industry, from dishwasher to restaurant owner; as well as teacher, from elementary to post-graduate professor at George Mason University. And, of course, on his off days from running a helpful nonprofit, he volunteers at other helpful nonprofits.
So when Deno learned of Brown’s self-described “ridiculous idea” to “ride a bicycle across the country” with the aim of “raising awareness, assisting, and advocating for our citizens who are suffering from the symptoms of extreme poverty,” he proposed to MTI the production of a video highlighting Brown’s mission and its importance.
As Deno said, echoing A Place To Stand’s mission: “There can be solutions for homelessness. It costs more to let people sleep on the street. People need transitional skills to move from homelessness to a more secure life.”
Please share the video to help the cause.

And so MTI donated equipment and hired videographer and editor Joachim DeMunck, who shot and edited the piece.
