MTI was hired by New York’s Steadynow Productions to produce a hybrid event for IBM at the IBM Innovation Studio in D.C. The first-quarter sales kickoff meeting (“SKO 1”) on the theme “Winning Is What We Do” marked the first event for Brenda Harvey, the new IBM GM for IBM Asia Pacific, Business & Technology Innovation. The event was basically an introductory meeting for GM Harvey, with individual sites all taking their cues from New York and then doing their own sub-meetings during the day.

The D.C. part of the event took place in several spaces, a main room with about 100 people, and more in overflow rooms on another floor. Steadynow’s Peter Morrison directed from New York.

Multiple monitors were required to bring the different livestreams to all of the event's participants.

We had one day to set everything up, which included three big-screen monitor TVs placed around the main room. Our primary responsibility on show day was to take the stream from New York and send it to the rooms.

John Bogley was the Director/TD/Streaming Director; Josh Roberts was the Audio Engineer; lead camera was Albert Liesegang; and second camera was Shawn Chadwick.

The equipment included three Panasonic AGDVX 200 cameras, the Spiderpod tripod riser to elevate the cameras, a Blackmagic ATEM 2 switcher, a Behringer audio board, the Atomos Shogun Record monitor, Aputure lights, a JBL PA system, multiple wireless mics, and Macbook Pros for streaming.

Despite the complexity of the production, everything went according to plan.
