Even the lighter side of video production demands serious attention
Comedian PT Bratton relied on MTI to produce his first stand-up special.

Producing a Debut Stand-Up Special
MTI was approached by PT Bratton, a national touring comedian and former pastor as well as military veteran, about producing his debut stand-up special You’re Welcome For My Service. Drawing on his experiences in both the military and the church, Bratton aims to use the unifying power of humor to bring understanding to all. As Bratton says, “It’s my way of continuing service in a different uniform.”

Using the right tech for the job
While some stand-up specials on the big streamers take place in giant theaters, with swooping crane shots, this production was better suited to a more intimate location.
Recording the special in an intimate space helped get the jokes across.
Video crew and production
To fully capture the subtle nuances of a comic performance, we stationed three camera operators around the room, for wide shots, closeups, and audience reactions. John Murphy, Todd Burger, and Shawn Chadwick were the cameramen, using Sony FS7 MII 4K cameras. The special was edited by Bill Parks.
As you can see, the night was a fun time for all, captured in real time.
You may view the entire special on Amazon Prime and Apple TV. Here is the trailer:
