MTI helps produce an historic livestream concert

One of the highlights of this fraught election cycle was the Power to the People Concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion on October 3. Described as “a celebration of peace, love, justice, music and community action,” the event was organized by Tom Morello of the band Rage Against the Machine, and included an amazing lineup of superstars: Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Stephen Stills, and many more. Even former special counsel Jack Smith was there, fresh off Congressional testimony and wearing a “No Kings” T-shirt. A portion of the proceeds were dedicated to from all ticket sales will benefit the voter organizations VoteRiders and HeadCount.

The concert was livestreamed on MSNOW and ran for nine-and-a-half hours. There were two stages with no overlapping of artists. MTI founder Dave Lilling was the stage manager on the second stage, which featured Public Enemy, the Dropkick Murphys, and the breakout band the Linda Lindas. Dave is a member of the Directors Guild of America and brought all of his experience to bear keeping such a massive production running smoothly and on time. Thanks to director/producer Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet Productions and executive Emily Wolfe for making everything such a pleasant experience.
