MTI was hired by Virginia Tech to cover the celebration of a milestone moment: a “topping out” ceremony, when the final beam was raised on the Innovation Campus building. The Virginia Tech Innovation Campus is a long-planned development for the university. Located in Alexandria’s Potomac Yards, the three-and-a-half acre campus will be a center and magnet for computer science education.

The event was covered by the Washington Post, which used a photo featuring one of the monitors that MTI supplied, with support from Capitol Media Systems.

Of course, because the location was an active construction site, the MTI video production team were wearing hard hats and reflective vests. We always take safety seriously in all of our productions, whether livestreamed or live in the moment. Our crew was Director John Bogley, Videographer Albert Liesengang, Audio Tech Josh Roberts, and Gaffer and Photographer Wesley Bailey. In addition to the monitors, the equipment included the Sony FS7 MKII camera, Aputure lights, a Behringer audio board, Shure podium microphones, and a PA system.

You may watch the video of the event that Virginia Tech posted to its Youtube page here.
