There’s a saying in carpentry, “measure twice, cut once.”

MTI takes that wise advice to heart with all of our video production work. When we were hired by the law firm of Keller and Heckman for a full day event, steaming a complete legal seminar over Vimeo — “TSCA Basics,” which would gather lawyers and scientists to discuss recent changes regarding the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 — we didn’t take anything for granted.

And so, the day before the shoot was scheduled, our crew came to the site of the event, the Marriott Courtyard in downtown Washington, D.C., and performed a full video and audio streaming test. Fortunately, everything worked fine, but better safe than sorry — another wise adage.

As a result, the program went smoothly and the client was satisfied.

MTI’s crew on the scene for the day was Director of Videography Jamie Sides, Webcasting Director Analee Wong, and Audio Engineer Quentin Addison.

The equipment used for the shoot was the Canon C 300 M II, Aperture lighting, Apple Encoder, a complete audio board for both the podium microphone and a wireless mic for the question-and-answer portion of the event. Once again, it’s about having the right people and equipment, not the most.

Of course, all MTI crew and staff are fully vaccinated and follow all Covid protocols.
